NCTAS 8 Arm Carousel
HMPS portable Carousel was developed for the prison services for NCTAS training using their small flower shaker pots.
The machine has been designed to take the most common types of flower shakers on the market such as Superior, Dexam and Genware to name a few.
The machine packs into three separate bags only weighing 26 kilos and fit’s into most medium cars. With eight arms spanning 1m between centres and an anti-rotation lock is ideal for NCTAS training, as well as normal carousel training.
It has a quick-release variable height mechanism which allows total control over height adjustment from ground zero to 70cm in height. This gives plenty of scope for training small and large Dogs and even puppies.
The carousel has a stainless steel centre column and arms numbered 1 – 8 and can be used indoors and outdoors in all weather.
Arms can be upgraded to accept our NATO style of scent pots should you require it.

Scent Pot Small
The small scent pot can be used in ID stands, compact carousel and chock stands.
They are made from stainless steel and can be cleaned in an autoclave or dishwasher with mild detergent.
Small Variable Release Scent Pot
These small variable scent pots measure 7cm by 9.5cm and are a standard size among the flower shaker pots commonly used.
These small scent pots with variable scent release lids can be used in ID stands, NCTAS carousels and chock stands.
They are made from stainless steel and can be cleaned in an autoclave or dishwasher with mild detergent.
NCTAS Stand Joiner
The NCTAS stand joiners are designed to connect all eight stands together and hold them in a straight line.
They prevent over-enthusiastic dogs from knocking the stands out of alinement while walking the line.
They are made from stainless steel and are very easy and quick to assemble and disassemble with two socket cap screws (key provided).
A set of seven is needed for the set of eight NCTAS stands to be held securely.
NCTAS ID Stands Small Pot
These floor stands are made from clear polycarbonate measuring 1 meter long by 120mm wide and will accept our small FS range of scent pots.
There are a range of accessories which we have developed to enhance the use of these stands. Including joiners which stop the stands from moving out of alinement.
The NCTAS test consists of eight plastic floor-mounted stands placed in a line. Each stand contains a stainless steel scent pot and lid spaced at 100cm intervals. This distance allows for large targets to be used without any interference between adjacent samples.
All detection Dogs accredited by NCTAS will be assured that they are performing at a standard that is nationally recognised by the UK government.
The NCTAS is a comprehensive scheme being rolled out under the Home Office initiative covering canine training, welfare, and accreditation procedures, which are developed in collaboration with the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), UK Border Force, National Offender Management Service and the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.
NCTAS is being developed for use with detection Dog organisations in both public and eventually private sectors in the UK.
Small Scent Pot Rack
Scent pot racks are designed to hold up to 8 small scent pots and can be used for transportation as well as sterilising.
They are made completely from stainless steel with a well-balanced carry handle
Chock Floor Stands Small Pot
Chock floor stands are designed to hold the small FS range of scent pots commonly used on our 8-arm NCTAS carousel and NCTAS floor stands.
They are made from heavy gauge stainless steel and hold the scent pot firmly on the floor. This allows the pots to be spaced in linear or random patterns to create various search patterns.
Easy to clean and sterilise in a dishwasher.
